“W” for Wankel
In Geneva in 1975, Opel revealed a beautifully streamlined two-seater, the “Genève”. Engineered to take a Wankel-type rotary engine, its original name was “GT/W” (“W” for Wankel).

However, GM dropped its Wankel development program before the car was completed. Opel Design renamed it and exhibited its fiberglass mock-up as an eye-catcher at the show.

The Opel Geneve was a styling study by General Motors. It featured a mid-mouted Opel Diplomate V8 engine, with 5354cc, developing 230bhp and a top speed of 235 km/h. The car was never put into production.

For a second there I thought you guys were either imcompetant or playing a joke. Could have sworn this was the 1970 Chevrolet Corvette XP-882. Then on closer inspection I thought maybe it was the XP-895 or maybe the XP-897...Im so confused.

But of course the lightning bolt confirms it's an Opel. Right? Or maybe...
