FIFTIE arrived on the scene to mark the 50th anniversary of the 4CV. It is an attractive, modern proposition for a leisure vehicle aimed at a young audience.

Sporting a 'moustache' in design-speak, the Fiftie was presented in 1996 to mark the 50th anniversary of the maker's 4CV. Echoes of the original included a mid-engine, rear-drive set up and plenty of retro curves. Contemporary touches included an aluminium chassis and the interior even featured rattan. The Fiftie was a proper runner, but only its engine survived: the 1.2-litre unit transplanted to the Twingo.


1996 Fiftie is a charming two-seater coupé intended to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the muchloved Renault 4CV. It reminds of the 4CV but has the next millenium’s technology at its heart: an advanced aluminium chassis borrowed from the Renault Spider and an all-new, mid-mounted 1,2 litre powerplant.

An intoxicating cocktail of past and future, Fiftie is a sporty two-seat coup». Its surprising bodywork betrays an undeniable sense of humour and happy-go-lucky attitude, making Fiftie cute yet dynamic.

• Reach-adjustable steering wheel and pedals

• Giant multi-function screen for management of hi-fi, climate control system, driver assistance system and telephone

• Picnic basket hidden in boot

• 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder engine delivering 60bhp with maximum torque of 93Nm at 2,500rpm

• 5-speed gearbox with semi-automatic clutch


Названный "FIFTIE" концепт был впервые представлен публике в 1996 году. Четырехместное купе по мотивам Renault 4CV, 50-ти летний юбилей которого праздновали в том году. Хотя снаружи автомобиль очень походит на своего предшественника, но "внутренности" совершенно новые: алюминиевое шасси заимствованно от Renault Spider, а двигатель - фирменный, новый, высоко-технологичный, объемом 1.2 литра.
