Italian-penned supercar design repurposes Bugatti power for off-road driving
Дизайн-ателье из Турина замыслило построить "суперкар с расширенными возможностями" – некий супер-кроссовер с полным приводом и увеличенным клиренсом. В проекте не было бы ничего сверхъестественного, если бы не "печка", от которой решили плясать итальянцы.

В роли платформы для создания своего внедорожного суперкара под названием Ramusa (с пьемонтского диалекта это слово переводится как "ящерица") дизайн-ателье Camal собирается использовать Bugatti EB110. Этот автомобиль был создан четверть века назад в рамках первой попытки возрождения марки, и выпуск его был прекращен еще в 1995 году. Купе оснащалось оригинальным 12-цилиндровым мотором объемом всего 3,5 л и системой полного привода с приоритетом задней оси.

Ателье Camal собирается сохранить и шасси, и двигатель, но основательно их доработать. К примеру, силовую установку Ramusa получит гибридную – вместе с наддувным V12 будет работать электромотор, который сможет приводить в движение переднюю ось.

По прогнозам, силовая установка сможет развивать до 800 л.с. Кроме того, внедорожник снабдят впечатляющим 250-миллиметровым дорожным просветом, но при этом общая высота суперкара благодаря пропорциям исходной модели не превысит 1 300 мм.

Ателье собирается выпустить Ramusa ограниченной, но все же серийной партией. Где итальянцы планируют раздобыть такое количество оригинальных моторов от Bugatti, не уточняется (суперкаров Bugatti EB110 было изготовлено немногим более 120 штук), поэтому уже высказываются предположения, что 3,5-литровый V12 получит лишь первый из построенных в Camal супер-внедорожников.


The RAMUSA project evolved from bridging the pleasure of dynamic sports car driving and the ability to take on any terrain and challenge that may arise, whilst combining luxury and comfort despite the extreme proportions and architecture of the vehicle.

Defined a Hypersuv, this concept is not easily defined by a specific segment, with increased ride height yet at the same time still under 1.5 metres high, two-seater and mid-engined, it's the first concept of its kind built from a pure sports layout.

The name RAMUSA, Lizard in the Piedmontese dialect, is a tribute that Camorali has dedicated to Stile Bertone, where early in his career he learnt the skills and gained the experience that made him who is today.

The RAMUSA, at 4320 mm long, 2020 mm wide and 1300 mm high, has ground clearance of 250 mm, with off road wheel arches and lots of exposed carbon.

With rear-wheel drive through a 6-speed gearbox connected to a legendary engine, the 3.5 liter, 60-valve V12 quad turbo from the famous Bugatti EB110, from which the Ramusa also borrows the carbon chassis as well as a number of other components.In line with future homologation regulations the concept integrates a hybrid system which powers the front wheels. A central electric motor renders the car all wheel drive during quick acceleration and limited traction, as well as reducing emissions and fuel consumption and bringing the overall power to over 800 hp.Still considered today as a milestone of modern engineering, the starting point was chosen at the specific request of the project owner, with the intention to create a limited series in the near future.

There are a number of design solutions that together cannot be reduced to a single trend. The internal layout and reduced wheelbase allow the car to remain compact, that together with a wedge silhouette slice the air to create a low coefficient of drag. The volumes of the body side and wings/fenders have a dynamic yet organic treatment intersected by strong edges that emphasise the character and the power in correspondence to the points of strength.The initial concept was born form the idea to intersect a disc-shaped volume with more technical elements rooted to the ground.Each vent, outlet or intake has been integrated into an aesthetic form, combining functionality with beauty; in a word, design.The carbon fibre wheel arches that are subtly squared off lend the concept an aggressive and purposeful stance suggesting it's extreme capabilities.

Despite the ground clearance, the car's roof relates to many mid-engined sports cars, making it unique in its proportions. The front and rear utilise full volumes and the absence of the classical radiator grille allows the car to adopt a unique and original character, whilst the various air-intakes work together in establishing an importance that are key to the overall design. The lighting clusters front and rear emerge from crevices in the body so as to not compromise the cleanliness of the volumes yet frame the four corners of the car.
