1966 saw the introduction of the “Big Block” V-8 engine. Together with their fibreglass bodies, Sting Rays were recognized as a very special car from the day they were born. The classic ‘retro’ lines of the Sting Rays up to 1967 are aesthetically breathtaking and as such, are extremely popular with enthusiasts and collectors; prices of these cars have always remained strong. 27,720 Corvettes were built in 1966 of which there were 9,958 Coupes and 17,762 Convertibles.
