Repeating from last year, I’m publishing the prompts I made for myself. Inktober is always an excuse to get better at quick sketches, both on paper and digital media. To anyone wanting to join in, feel free to take these up. I would be sketching my favourite cars from these brands, which of course has changed over the year, with better exposure and growing taste in cars. Good luck and cheers to everyone this month.

Day 1. Alfa Romeo 159 Sportwagon

Okay, my favourite Alfa a year ago was the Brera, but growing a more practical head, I’ve fallen for station wagons. This year, I’m gonna be doing a bit more of digital ink than paper stuff. Hope everyone’s having a nice first day of Inktober. Happy sketching, folks!

Day 2. Aston Martin V8 Vantage Le Mans V600

So this is my favourite Aston Martin now, which has changed from the Valhalla. Though I strongly believe all Aston Martins are exceedingly beautiful and it was hard to pick just one for the sketch. Quick render on Photoshop. Zero paths.

Day 3. Audi Sport Quattro S1

At least this one remains the favourite Audi over the year. Got a bit late with posting this one.

Day 4. Bentley 3/8 Litre Hawkeye Special

Another one that hasn’t changed as being my favourite Bentley since last year. Should probably sketch more vintages. So much detail to get lost in.

Day 5. Alpina B12

And yes, yet another BMW that has remained a forever favourite. Purple is not my colour but if Inktober isn’t an excuse to experiment with stuff I haven’t tried before, I don’t know what is.

Day 6. Bugatti Centodieci

Not many brands nail homages to older models the same way as Bugatti does. And so, it’s still the favourite over the year. I also love the original EB110 as well.

Day 7. Cadillac Escalade V

If there wasn’t a reason to love the Escalade more, there’s the V now. The favourite Cadillac changed from the Elmiraj to this behemoth now.

Day 8. Chevrolet Corvette Mako Shark II

I swear this is not the same blue as the one for the Bugatti sketch. Celebrating the continuity of the Mako Shark ‘Vette being the favourite for Chevrolet day. After all, nobody can look uncool in a Corvette.

Day 9. Citroën My Ami Buggy Concept

I started sketching a Citroën DS for today and then I realised that I like the buggy version of the Ami more and went for it.

Day 10. Dodge Viper GTS

I love the Ram but I love the Viper a little bit more.

Day 11. Ferrari F40

This will probably be the favourite Ferrari forever and always. I’m a fan of Ferraris but I’m an even bigger fan of non-red Ferraris.

Day 12. Abarth Lancia SE037

Well, trying to get away with sketching a Lancia 037 for Day 12 because it qualifies as an Abarth.

Day 13. Ford GT

I was gonna go for the F-150 Raptor R, but this year, I found myself going less for SUVs and more for sports cars. Love the surface treatment on the GT.

Day 14. Honda CR-X

Gotta love the 80s intensely for the CR-X to replace the NSX-R as my favourite Honda.

Day 15. Hyundai N-Vision 74

No surprises here as to this being my favourite Hyundai. Would even go on to being one of my favourite cars exhibited in 2022.

Day 16. Jaguar XJ220

This had to be a super quick sketch because it’s Sunday. Cheers to the XJ220 for retaining the position as my favourite Jaguar over the year. The XJ Super was close but didn’t make the cut.

Day 17. Jeep Wrangler Overlook

The favourite Jeep changed over the year. From one Wrangler version to another. The CJ-7 is my classic favourite Jeep though. I’ll sketch one when Inktober is done.

Day 18. Lamborghini Diablo GT

I like all versions of the Diablo. Pop-ups, no pop-ups, SV, GTR, and what not. Unarguably the all-time favourite Lamborghini.

Day 19. Land Rover Discovery

So I like the Defender. And I also like the Range Rover. And I couldn’t pick one. So I went all Goldilocks and chose to sketch the Discovery. In my honest opinion, the best of both worlds.

Day 20. Lotus Esprit V8

Just me and my love affair for boxy sports cars. I also love the Elise GT1 and the Evija. But the Esprit just takes the cake.

Day 21. Maserati MC12

This stunner of a car retains its position as the all-time favourite Maserati.

Day 22. Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4²

Another year and another version of the G-Wagen as the favourite. I know the new G63 with the portal axles exists now but I’m somehow partial to the grille of the previous generation. Also reserving the sunset colour palette for my absolute favourite cars.

Day 23. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Tommy Makkinen Edition

Well, who can say no to Evos?

Day 24. Nissan Fairlady 240Z

I know I’m dreadfully behind in the Inktober schedule but I’m trying to catch up. I like almost all Nissans but the ones that I absolutely love are the Fairlady and the R390 GT1.

Day 25. Peugeot 205 T16

Well, this hot hatch is undoubtedly my favourite Peugeot, followed closely by the last gen 508 SW PSE.

Day 26. Porsche 935 Straßenversion

I know this colour doesn’t exist in reality on the 935 but hey, it doesn’t hurt to imagine. My favourite Porsche keeps changing every year but the 930 Turbo and the Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo follow closely as favourites.

Day 27. Alpine A110 1600

Nothing can stop me from loving the good old A110.

Day 28. Rolls-Royce Phantom I Jonckheere Coupé

If Darth Vader were to drive a Phantom, this would’ve been it and that’s enough reason to make this my favourite Rolls-Royce.

Day 29. Toyota Sprinter Trueno

Well, I can’t think of any Toyota being more iconic than this one. I grew up watching Initial D and this car was a matter of goosebumps.

Day 30. Volkswagen Golf R32

Well, the closing of Inktober is quite near. And it’s been a crazy month. Anyways, there’s nothing not to love about AWD hot hatches and the Golf R generations are all quite something!

Day 31. Volvo XC90

Yup. Nothing impressed me as much as how the XC90 seems indestructible. Also, I’m very much inclined to full sized SUVs. This sketch marks the end of the Inktober series. I’ll post a reel soon with all the sketches together.
