Garford advertising in the magazines has been notable for the use of a series of fine pen-and-ink subject pictures by the well-known illustrator, R. F. Schabelitz. These have been some of the most successful drawings of this class used in the advertising sections, and are characteristic of the efforts of automobile manufacturers to introduce the "human" element into their advertising


В 1911 г., после окончания сотрудничества с фирмой Studebaker, Артур Гарфорд начал выпуск легковых автомобилей собственной конструкции и заключил соглашение c Джоном Виллисом об их продаже через сеть сбыта компании Willys-Overland, для чего была создана Willys-Garford Sales Company. Летом 1912 г. Гарфорд покинул своё предприятие и ушёл в большую политику, оставив завод под полным контролем концерна Willys-Overland.
