While the Avus was never meant to see production, the Spyder really should be built. Pretty late Audi realized that the projected price tag of under 50.000 Euro could not be reached. Perhaps this was a mistake, today such an sportscar would fit into Audi line up really well. Positioned clearly above the TT with a price tag of around 60.000Euro it could threaten Porsche and BMW. But in 1991 this was utopian.
